We are seeking a visionary leader to drive the journal forward and ensure it continues to publish high-quality, impactful research. The starting date for this role is 1 January 2026.

About Biomedical Materials
BMM publishes original research findings and critical reviews that contribute to our knowledge about the composition, properties, and performance of materials for all applications relevant to healthcare.The general management of the peer review process for all submissions we receive, including reviewer selection, is managed independently by our in-house team of Editors.
About the Editor-in-Chief Role
The Editor-in-Chief will be supported by a team of IOPP Staff led by the Publisher and Editor of BMM.The main duties of the BMM Editor-in-Chief role include:
Provide scientific guidance and editorial board leadership to ensure the journal’s content is of the highest quality and relevance
Collaborate with the Editorial Board to develop new ideas and initiatives that reflect the evolving landscape of biomaterials research
Act as an ambassador for the journal, enhancing its status and visibility within the scientific community
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who has:
Broad understanding of the field of Biomedical Materials
Substantial and recent experience in managing or conducting research
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire an international Editorial Board
A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role
Extensive experience in journal Editorial Board
Proven objective and astute editorial decision-making
A strong commitment to scholarly integrity and ethical publishing practices
