Liew Pay Jun

- Liew Pay Jun, Associate Professor, serves at the Faculty of Industrial and Manufacturing Technology and Engineering, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). She is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) registered in the United Kingdom and obtained her Ph.D. from Tohoku University, Japan, under the supervision of Professor Jiwang Yan. From 2017 to 2019, she served as the Deputy Director of the International Center at UTeM. Her current research interests include electrical discharge machining, coating, sustainable cutting fluid, machining and material processing. She has published over 60 papers and authored 5 book chapters. Now, she is an Editor of the Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology – Malaysia and an Editorial Board Member of several international journals including Journal of Advanced Research in Micro and Nano Engineering and Engineering Research Express. She also serves as Young Editorial Board Member of Advanced Manufacturing.

- Hu Huang was born in Hubei, China, in 1986. He received his B.E. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from Jilin University, Changchun, China, in 2010 and 2014, respectively. Supported by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), he worked as the Research Fellow at Keio University from 2014 to 2017. Since October 2017, He is a full professor with the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Jilin University, Changchun, Jilin, China, where he is selected to be the Tang Aoqing Distinguished Professor in 2020. From April 2021 to July 2025, He was the Vice Director of the Key Laboratory of CNC Equipment Reliability, Ministry of Education, Jilin University, Changchun, China. From April 2023 to March 2024, he worked as the Guest Professor in mechanical engineering at Keio University. His current research interests include piezoelectric actuators, precision instruments, measurement and applications, and surface modification and microstructure fabrication. Now, he serves as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, Editorial Board Member of China Surface Engineering and Journal of Jilin University (Engineering and Technology Edition), Youth Editor of The International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing, and Youth Editorial Board Member of China Mechanical Engineering (CME). As the first/corresponding author, he has published 149 SCI-indexed papers, authorized more than 40 invention patents, delivered 18 invited talks in academic conferences, organized two English books, co-authored 5 chapters, and obtained more than ten awards and honors.

- Jingsi Wang is an Associate Professor at Dalian Maritime University. She received her PhD in 2016 from Tohoku University, where she studied the material removal mechanism in micro ultrasonic machining. Her research focuses on advanced manufacturing technology, the design and fabrication of functional surfaces, and interface friction and wear. She has published over 30 papers and serves as a member of the International Society of Bionic Engineering Young Committee and the Branch Committee of the Chinese Society for Internal Combustion Engines.
