The rapid technological development to meet future generation needs, at the cost of the ecosystem, has raised major global challenges of water scarcity, energy crisis, solid-waste management, atmospheric pollution, pandemics and fatal diseases, global warming, acid rain, ozone depletion, radiation pollution and food shortage. The United Nation’s sustainable development goals (SDGs) are concerned with attaining global sustainability to cater for these challenges for environmental restoration and human welfare. Nanotechnology has emerged as a game-changing technology to address these severe global challenges and provides a roadway to reach SDGs in different sectors. This focus collection aims to bring together all of the diversified applications of nanotechnology for attaining SDGs by catering to global challenges. All aspects of nanotechnology to achieve the following SDGs:
