主题范围
Energy harvesting (EH) and structural health monitoring (SHM) are related technologies. Both are reliant on transduction, the conversion of energy from one type to another. They can be more intimately related in applications where scavenged energy is used to power sensors used in structural health monitoring, particularly in remote settings. Smart materials are frequently used in energy harvesting, and in the sensors used in structural health monitoring. Smart structures can optimise the effectiveness of both. Smart materials and structures drive the latest advances in energy harvesting and structural health monitoring.
This issue of Smart Materials and Structures (SMS) brings together a collection of papers that cover the latest research progress in energy harvesting and structural health monitoring based on smart materials and structures. While the majority of works in this collection will be original research papers, review articles will also be considered. This issue will cover, but not limited be to:
- Smart materials in energy harvesting and structural health monitoring
- Smart structures in energy harvesting and structural health monitoring
- Dynamics in energy harvesting and structural health monitoring
- Integrated design of EH/SHM systems
