主题范围
This Focus Collection will highlight recent advances in topological photonics and non-Hermitian photonics, with particular emphasis on their deep and growing connection in photonic systems. Topological photonics has provided powerful paradigms for robust wave transport and protected states, while non-Hermitian photonics has revealed a broad range of unusual physical phenomena arising from openness, gain and loss, radiation, and dissipation. In realistic photonic platforms, these two directions are increasingly intertwined, giving rise to rich new physics and novel device functionalities.
The collection aims to bring together cutting-edge research on the fundamental physics, device concepts, and emerging applications of photonic systems with topological and non-Hermitian properties. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- topological phases and protected states in photonic systems
- non-Hermitian effects, exceptional points, and spectral singularities
- interplay between topology and non-Hermiticity
- topological lasers and non-Hermitian light sources
- robust transport, localization, and scattering control
- higher-order, synthetic-dimensional, and Floquet photonic systems
- topological and non-Hermitian effects in metasurfaces, photonic crystals, waveguides, resonators, and integrated photonic platforms
- novel functionalities and applications enabled by topological or non-Hermitian photonics, including sensing, lasing, routing, imaging, and information processing
This collection welcomes contributions spanning theory, numerical design, experimental demonstration, and device-oriented studies. It is intended to provide a timely overview of the latest developments in this active and interdisciplinary field.
