1. 您为什么选择从事相关的领域研究？
For one thing, I started enjoying this field of work back in high school. I also decided to pursue it because I felt the field was important for all of our development. Maybe that sounds childish.

I conduct research on materials for protective coatings that are both effective and environmentally friendly.
3. 您认为五年后该领域的研究重点将会是什么？
The research will continue to focus on sustaining development and finding new solutions, with AI-based solutions increasingly being incorporated.

I like the topics in Engineering Research Express.
5. 您认为像Engineering Research Express这样的期刊对领域的发展有什么重要影响？
In my opinion, journals such as Engineering Research Express currently play one of the most important roles in the development of the engineering field. And this is not only due to the timeliness and selection of topics or the speed of publication. It is precisely because of the interconnection between technical, materials, and engineering disciplines. And thanks to this interdisciplinary approach, seemingly disparate topics are connected, offering a fresh perspective on the subject and the essence of the issue. This creates a positive impact and a real opportunity for fruitful collaboration across multiple disciplines, which will enable progress and development in engineering and materials-focused fields. Almost every individual researcher today has access to a sufficient number of instruments and methods, but that is no longer enough.

Andréa Kalendová 教授

- Professor Ing. Andréa Kalendová graduated from the University of Chemistry and Technology in Pardubice. She has been working at the Faculty of Chemical Technology for more than 25 years and is the guarantor for the master’s study field of Paints and Organic Coatings. Her research activity is focused on the study of the synthesis and application of anticorrosion pigments and inhibitors, thermally stable pigments, magnetically active, electroactive pigments, and conductive polymers for polymer coatings and paints. She deals with the inhibition of specific forms of corrosion in polymer coatings and the development of methods for testing the properties of polymer films and their components. It also deals with the formulations and preparation of protective coatings, thermally stable coatings, and hygienic antimicrobial or photocatalytic coatings. Andrea Kalendová is the author or co-author of the chapters in professional books, the author or co-author of several scripts for students, according to WOS, she has more than 130 works. She is the author or co-author of several technologies related to paints, coatings, pigments, and their applications, as well as special paint materials.
