主题范围

Repair and regeneration of damaged neural tissue following injury and disease presents a major challenge for healthcare systems worldwide. Biomaterials approaches offer an important treatment modality for clinical and scientific research of neural diseases.

Biomaterials possess outstanding physicochemical properties and excellent biological control. They can be designed to have superior biocompatibility and electrical or nano-carrier properties, and have been used for synaptic modulation, neuroinflammatory reduction, regulation of stem cell growth and differentiation, to better repair the apoptotic cells and tissues in various neural diseases.

This Focus Issue will collect leading-edge research results and critical reviews on the application of biomaterials towards the repair and remodeling of neural tissue. It is hoped that the Focus Issue will foster useful discussions and propel the research field.
