主题范围
In a rapidly transforming world with increasingly felt climate change impacts, infrastructures at multiple scales are responsible for shaping societal risks, impacts, and sustainable development pathways. Infrastructure availability and quality also play an important role in defining adaptive capacity. As a consequence, it is important to advance both methodological aspects and evidence-based understanding of how micro-scale and private factors (such as individual and household characteristics and assets)interact with meso-scale (e.g. urban design, building materials, distributed infrastructures) and global-scale (e.g. the electricity grid, the water networks, roads and the related policies) infrastructures in shaping future societal outcomes in the face of ongoing transformations and climate change impacts.
This focus collection solicits contributions that address both empirical and conceptual issues relating to the role of big and granular spatial data can play to map, assess, project, and evaluate the impacts of infrastructures at different scales (and their interactions) in shaping societal outcomes and climate-related impacts and adaptation-related questions.
We welcome contributions that:
- Use a combination of geospatial data products, satellite-based data products, microdata (e.g. household surveys)to address infrastructure-related questions
- Apply data analysis techniques (e.g. statistical analysis, machine learning, inference methods, multi-criteria analysis) to derive new insights
- Develop novel data products to the benefit of the scientific community based on combination of different big and granular data products
- Cover any domain of application as long as they are relevant to infrastructure-related and societal transformation questions, such as the urban dimension, the agricultural sector, the Water-Food-Energy-Environment (WEFE) Nexus, public health, the energy system, transport systems, etc.
