In addition, we welcome papers that discuss innovative applications of piezoelectric semiconductors in various fields such as energy harvesting, sensors, actuators, and transducers. Insights into the design, fabrication, and optimization of devices leveraging piezoelectric semiconductors are particularly encouraged.
Furthermore, this focus issue aims to highlight the interplay between piezoelectric-like effects and other semiconductor phenomena, such as flexoelectricity, ferroelectricity, triboelectricity, and quantum effects. Contributions that examine the coupling of piezoelectric semiconductors with other materials and the resulting enhancements in device performance will be highly valued.
We encourage submissions from both theoretical and experimental perspectives, including modelling, simulation, and empirical studies that provide new understanding and advancements in the field. Through this collection, we aim to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state and future directions of piezoelectric semiconductor device research and applications.
