The advent of advanced laser technology offers unprecedented and unique capacities to unveil the electronic structure and dynamics of matters over spacetime scales down to ?ngstroms and attoseconds in the condition of probing their excited state properties. This focus issue aims at bringing together leading researchers with diverse backgrounds to explore the excited state properties of condensed matter, encompassing a wide range of electromagnetic spectrum from THz to X ray, by combined theoretical and experimental approaches.
Topics include but not limited to:
- Electronic structure theory of excited states
- Photoabsorption and photoemission
- Properties of photoexcited materials
- Electron dynamics
- Dynamic response of materials upon photoexcitation
- Pump-probe techniques
- Excited electronic structure of correlated quantum materials
- Floquet engineering
