主题范围

To maintain a sustainable supply of fresh food around the world, smart food packaging materials are crucial. Smart food packaging materials can replace petroleum plastic-based food packaging films and reduce environmental pollution caused by disposable plastic food packaging. Importantly, smart food packaging materials have significant antioxidant properties, antibacterial properties and smart indication properties. In recent years, functional food packaging films/coatings composed of smart food packaging materials have been successfully used in the preservation of various fresh foods, including fruits, vegetables, poultry and seafood. Therefore, the purpose of this topic is to provide readers with a broad overview of original research articles and review papers, with a focus on recent developments and advances in the application of smart food packaging materials in fresh food preservation.

This issue focuses on the latest progress in the application of smart food packaging materials in fresh food preservation. Topics include but are not limited to the development of smart food freshness indication food packaging films/coatings, antioxidant packaging films/coatings, antibacterial food packaging films/coatings and their applications in fresh food preservation.
